Early Morning Emergency Calls and Cozy Homes A Day in HVAC Service

5:30 AM – Rise and Shine

The day starts early in the HVAC world, especially during Colorado’s temperature extremes. After a quick cup of coffee and checking my service schedule, I’m already getting an emergency call from a family in Centennial whose furnace stopped working overnight.

7:00 AM – First Emergency Call

Arriving at the customer’s home, I find their aging furnace has a failed ignitor. Thankfully, I keep common replacement parts stocked in my service vehicle. Within an hour, the home is warming up again, and the grateful family can start their day comfortably.

9:30 AM – Scheduled Maintenance

The next stop takes me to Highlands Ranch for a routine furnace inspection. These preventive maintenance visits are crucial – they help catch potential issues before they become emergency situations during the coldest nights of winter.

12:00 PM – Lunch Break and Route Planning

Quick lunch in Littleton while planning the afternoon route. The dispatcher calls with a new AC installation consultation in Wheat Ridge for tomorrow.

1:30 PM – Heating System Installation

The afternoon involves completing a heating system installation in Arvada. Working with modern, high-efficiency systems is always satisfying, knowing the homeowners will see significant energy savings.

Key Parts of My Day:

  • System diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Customer education about maintenance
  • Parts replacement and repairs
  • Installation coordination
  • Safety inspections

4:30 PM – Wrapping Up

Before heading back to base in Englewood, I ensure all service reports are complete and the van is restocked for tomorrow. Every day brings different challenges, but helping people stay comfortable in their homes makes it all worthwhile.

The best part of working in HVAC service is the satisfaction of solving problems and knowing that families will sleep warmly and safely tonight because of our work.
